Avamere at Seaside, an independent living and memory care senior community, celebrated a monumental birthday for resident Edi Brown. She turned 99 on June 13, 2020
We sat down with Edi and her daughter, Michelle, and asked her a few questions as she reflected on 99 years of life.
What is your secret to a long life?
“Staying active!” exclaims Edi. “I tap danced until I was 90 years old. I also have loved to take trips to Hawaii and ski Mt. Hood.”
Do you have a favorite memory from when you were younger?
“One of my favorite memories is when I sang for the troops in California,” notes Edi. “I also was a ship welder for some time, and that made for some good memories!”
What is a food you really enjoy?
“I love a cup of noodle soup and KFC,” she stated.
What advice do you have for others?
“Behave yourself, be polite, and be kind,” notes Edi.
